Job summary

School of Rock is seeking a Music Instructor to lead private lessons and group rehearsals across keys, vocals, guitar, bass, and drums. The role focuses on high-quality instruction, engaging students, and delivering a dynamic learning experience that builds musical and life skills.

You will create lesson plans, track progress, and communicate with parents. The ideal candidate is a working musician with formal training, enthusiastic, patient, and capable of handling diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal with a wide range of customers and people.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Very strong customer relations skills.
• Working musician with formal music school training preferred.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor.
• Passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction with private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents after lessons.
• Be visible and accessible in the school and assist in rehearsals and maintenance.
• Adhere to the Code of Conduct and safety policies.
