Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience managing groups of students and providing instruction.
• Submit attendance reports and maintain classroom records.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for school environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities provided by the absent teacher or designated staff.
• Use instructional strategies and materials reflecting students' learning styles per lesson plans.
• Work cooperatively with teachers to modify curriculum as needed or noted in lesson plans.
• Be a positive role model for students; support mission of campus and school district.
• Submit attendance reports and maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Manage student behavior in accordance with the lesson plans and Student Code of Conduct.
• Supervise students at all times; ensure safety of students and equipment.
• Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain a clean and orderly classroom and follow school procedures.
• Leave notes or complete substitute teacher reports at day end.
• Report any accidents or incidents.
• Communicate in a friendly and positive manner towards students, parents, staff, and administrators.
• Participate in substitute training and activities to improve job-related skills.
• Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
