Qualifications

3+ years of experience with digital content creation, social media, and SEO.
Ability to work under deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong writing and proofreading skills; writing test may be required.
Editorial judgment and urgency for breaking news & weather.
Proficiency with Photoshop and video editing software.
Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Create and post breaking, daily, and enterprise content on Click2Houston.com and connected apps, including articles, livestreams, images, videos, and galleries.
Pitch story ideas and shepherd them from concept to publication.
Manage KPRC 2/Click2Houston social and digital platforms during shifts.
Engage audiences through comments, drive traffic to programs, and monitor trends.
Craft social posts to build audiences and promote content.
Develop engaging content elements like polls, photos, galleries, and video solicitations.
Cover high-interest topics quickly and craft compelling angles for big stories and breaking news.
Write push alerts to grab attention for newscasts and digital content.
Collaborate with producers, anchors, and reporters on content and promotion.
Review, develop, and send newsletters.
Support KPRC 2+ livestream, Insider membership, and Community campaigns.
