Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a qualified CTE Business Education instructor to lead a competency-based program. Under the principal's direction, you will plan lessons, assess student progress, and maintain records in compliance with CMS policies.

You will teach business courses such as Accounting I/II, Computer Accounting III, and related subjects; develop project-based activities; and collaborate with staff to support student success and competitive CTE opportunities.

Qualifications

• Required Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree.
• AND 24 credit hours in the Content area
• Passing the NC SBE Licensure Area Exam
• Completion of NCSBE Pre-service Requirements
• Enroll in EPP (Educational Preparation Program)
• 40 Hour Induction beginning Year One

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and high expectations for student achievement.
• Plan, organize, and teach a competency-based CTE program in Business Education.
• Create and plan curriculum-based projects aligned with a construction concept.
• Demonstrate techniques to students individually and in groups to complete lessons and assessments.
• Use student data to assess progress and modify instruction.
• Provide clear expectations, feedback, and appropriate consequences.
• Support students in pursuing employment and further education opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues in PLCs and with administrators to improve practice.
