Job summary

Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC) SRLS division seeks energetic Fitness Instructors to provide engaging classes for residents of all ages and abilities. Opportunities include a wide range of disciplines, from traditional formats to creative offerings, in classrooms, makerspaces, community centers, and outdoor spaces.

Qualifications

• Must have CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Instructors must be at least 21 years of age.
• Minimum of two years teaching fitness, wellness, or related programming.
• Experience leading group fitness, recreation, or youth programming preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead safe, engaging, and age-appropriate fitness classes.
• Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and modifications for varying fitness levels.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants.
• Maintain professional relations with participants and M-NCPPC staff.
• Follow M-NCPPC policies, procedures, and facility guidelines.
• Communicate class needs, scheduling, and participant concerns to staff.
