Candidates must have 60 college credit hours, complete the Substitute Teacher Training Workshop this year, and qualify for the Broward County Substitute Teaching Certificate.

Qualifications

• Earned sixty (60) semester credit hours from an accredited institution.
• Attend and complete the Substitute Teacher Training Workshop during the current school year.
• Classroom Monitor will have the full year to complete this training.
• Must qualify for a Broward County Substitute Teaching Certificate.
• Computer skills as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Report to the specified school daily; if not needed, report to a zone school that needs a substitute.
• Accurately report homeroom attendance per school procedures.
• Maintain classroom control and discipline.
• Follow provided lesson plans; develop and get approval for lesson plans when appropriate.
• Teach up to seven periods per day.
• May participate in Innovation Zone activities during the workday.
• Administer discipline per Florida statutes and School Board policies; corporal punishment is forbidden.
• Familiar with school procedures such as bell schedule and drills.
• Comply with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
• Participate in job-related training programs.
• Review developments and resources related to job responsibilities.
• Ensure safety rules and procedures are followed.
• Follow all federal, state and School Board policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
