Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools is seeking a substitute teacher to provide instruction in the assigned school. The role involves implementing lesson plans, managing behavior, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs.

The substitute may cover short-term or long-term assignments and collaborates with staff to maintain instructional continuity. Applicants should have at least 60 semester hours of college credit or two years of experience with children and complete required safety

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit or 2 years experience working with children.
• Must complete Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention training.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 to 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in assigned school.
• Assume responsibility for classroom instruction, assessments and behavior management.
• Improvise lessons in emergencies and plan/deliver curriculum content.
• Collaborate with other staff to plan and deliver instruction and communicate with parents.
