Job summary

The incumbent will develop instructional plans, implement diverse strategies, monitor student progress, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Valid Alabama teaching certification in area of instructional responsibility.
• Background clearance through FBI and ABI processes.
• Regular and punctual attendance required; full compliance with sick leave and personal leave policies.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and progress toward educational goals and outcomes.
• Develop and implement a program of instruction meeting student needs and curriculum guides.
• Plan and employ a variety of instructional strategies aligned with curriculum objectives.
• Implement positive behavioral strategies to manage student behavior.
• Communicate instructional expectations and student progress to students and parents in writing or verbally.
• Maintain assessment and evaluation records for reporting purposes.
• Participate with staff to select books, equipment and instructional materials for optimal learning opportunities.
• Participate in planning instructional goals, methods and curriculum with other school personnel.
• Engage in professional development activities as required or assigned.
• Assist in documenting student progress by maintaining and submitting records and reports.
• Ensure a conducive learning environment in the classroom.
• Participate in meetings for IDEA/504/PTI/RTI when applicable.
• Assume other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor.
