Job summary

DoD CY Programs in Dahlgren, VA, seeks a CY Program Assistant to help manage daily activities for children and youth. The role includes planning schedules, leading activities, and ensuring safety and supervision during indoor and outdoor times.

The ideal candidate will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, six months of relevant experience, and DoD training or CDA/MSA credentials. The position is permanent with a flexible schedule and weekend requirements as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Completion of required DoD training certificates, and maintain certifications.
• Promote and foster effective working relationships with children, youth, and coworkers.
• Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
• Six (6) months of experience working with children or youth in a child and youth setting.

Responsibilities

• Develops schedules and activity plans that meet the needs of children and youth.
• Implements activities and special events supporting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Cares for children and youth with special needs as directed by the supervisor.
• Ensures safety, supervision, and accountability for program participants.
• Communicates with parents and staff about children's progress and activities.
• Assists in achieving and maintaining DoD certification and accreditation.
