Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of the CDA within the first year of employment.
• Foundations in Health and Safety Certificate or willingness to complete within the first week.
• 1 year of experience working with children preferred; basic programming knowledge and regulatory awareness.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications required or willingness to complete within the first year.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent supervision and daily care to all children in the assigned classroom.
• Assist with implementing activities, offering assessment information as requested.
• Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observation, demonstration and questioning.
• Ensure activities are carried out safely, efficiently and with motivation.
• Provide positive guidance to children using positive language and reinforcement.
