Job summary

Kansas City Power & Light District is seeking a Server to greet guests and take beverage and food orders with prompt, professional service. You will deliver cocktails and menu items to bar guests and upsell when taking orders.

Must be energetic, friendly, and able to communicate clearly with staff. You will verify IDs, monitor alcohol service, and handle cash and payments while coordinating with bartenders and kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of serving in a fast paced food & beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred.
• Must meet state legal age requirements.
• Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred.
• Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized when taking orders and completing paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders promptly and professionally.
• Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests; upsell when taking orders.
• Maintain energy and professionalism while delivering outstanding service with a smile.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and kitchen staff; use POS system.
• Check IDs to ensure minimum age for alcohol consumption.
• Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption; report incidents to management.
