Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking an Assistant Teacher in Fairfield, OH to support the Lead Teacher in developing the social, physical, and cognitive growth of each child. The role emphasizes safety, developmentally appropriate activities, and adherence to Step Up to Quality standards.

Responsibilities include planning weekly lessons, coordinating meals and snacks, and maintaining strong communication with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Certifications: First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention; willingness to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assists in managing high-quality childcare programs for assigned classroom and age group.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and Step Up to Quality regulations.
• Ensures safety procedures are followed and child well-being prioritized.
• Interacts with children at their developmental level.
• Assists in development and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
• Plans meals and snacks meeting nutritional guidelines.
• Manages program budget and fee collection.
• Implements marketing to improve attendance.
• Maintains relationships with licensing agencies and schools.
• Trains and supervises staff on policies and procedures.
• Responds to inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
• Documents and reports special needs to Lead Teacher.
• Keeps classroom and supplies organized.
