Crossroads YMCA in Crown Point, IN is seeking a Part Time Group Exercise Instructor I to provide high-quality classes at Dean & Barbara White Southlake YMCA - Crown Point. The role supports youth development and community wellness through engaging, safe workouts for diverse members.

The position requires leading classes, building relationships, and maintaining accurate attendance while upholding YMCA standards and certifications. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour and is experience-based.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Employee Orientation.
• Complete Foundations of Group Exercise within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Must have a passion for learning, working with youth/families, and sports in general.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed to accomplish YMCA goals.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and supports member connections with the YMCA.
• Answers questions to help members achieve health goals using active listening.
• Celebrates member achievements and supports skill development and wellbeing.
• Observes and adjusts approach to support diverse member capabilities.
• Keeps class attendance records and supports member retention and growth.
• Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events as directed.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures and responds to emergencies.
