Job summary

WMTW-TV in Westbrook, Maine is seeking an Anchor/Reporter to bring energy to our anchor desk and venture into field reporting. You will enterprise exclusives, tell compelling stories, and deliver live shots with credibility and poise. You will mentor producers and reporters and write/edit scripts with viewer interaction in mind.

The role reports to the News Director. Salary range is $70,000 - $87,000, with competitive benefits and opportunities to cover major local stories.

Qualifications

2+ years of anchor experience.
2+ years of reporting experience.
Demo reel is indicative of everyday work.

Responsibilities

Deliver scripted and ad-lib material with professionalism, personality, and purpose.
Work with and guide reporters and producers in newscast production.
Plan, gather and assemble stories on day-of news or special project assignments.
Coordinate with news managers and producers to develop stories with exclusive content.
Develop a network of sources for tips and breaking stories.
Appear on behalf of the station at public events.
Contribute pictures, video and text updates to mobile platforms.
Work on multiple stories and projects, meeting all deadlines.
Summarize information into easy-to-understand components.
