Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in music or 18 grad hours in music from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Three years’ experience teaching or working in music preferred.
  • Postsecondary teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience in distance education and use of technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare lesson plans for Music Appreciation classroom instruction.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, and current music procedures.
  • Develop programs and syllabi, goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate student progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Request and maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Develop course outlines, class presentations, and ensure accreditation standards.
