Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College – South Bend invites applications for Adjunct Faculty to teach on a part-time, as-needed basis. You will create a learning environment that helps students achieve their goals and provide effective instruction within the framework of common syllabi.

The position requires a strong knowledge of current instructional technologies, development of syllabi and assessments, and diligent record-keeping. Compensation is $47.35 per contract hour.

Responsibilities

• Delivers assigned classes per policy and course objectives.
• Utilizes technology to enhance instructional methods.
• Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials; maintains accurate student records and grades.
• Engages with students to promote active classroom learning and positive experiences.
• Monitors student performance and provides interventions and academic supports.
• Interacts professionally with students and staff, complying with college policies and safety procedures.

Education

Master's degree in biological science

Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate hours in biology-related courses
