Lafayette Pointe is seeking an energetic Activities Director for a brand-new facility in Xenia, OH. The role focuses on planning engaging daily activities to promote socialization, creativity, independence, and overall quality of life for residents.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, enjoys working with older adults, and can build genuine relationships with residents while coordinating a structured program of events and activities. Daily pay is offered as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Activities Director Certified is required.
• Caring and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working with seniors.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity to develop activities for a variety of interests.
• Dependability and ability to work independently while contributing to the care team.
• Previous experience with older adults in long-term care or activities/recreation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead daily activities based on residents' interests and needs.
• Create opportunities for socialization, friendship, and engagement.
• Organize games, crafts, music, exercise, educational programs, outings, and other activities.
• Encourage participation while respecting individual preferences and abilities.
• Develop activities for residents with different physical, cognitive, and social needs.
• Learn residents' interests, hobbies, backgrounds, and preferences.
• Coordinate special events, celebrations, birthdays, and holidays.
