Job summary

Franklinton Middle in Franklinton, NC is hiring a Grade 7 Social Studies Teacher to plan, organize, and present instruction that supports students' academic and social development. The role reports to the Principal and may supervise teacher assistants in coordinating instructional activities.

The teacher will deliver standards-based lessons, monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and participate in appropriate professional duties. Immediate starting date is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
• Ability to motivate students.
• Strong interpersonal communication and language abilities.

Responsibilities

• A. Major Function: Management of Instructional Time – prepares materials and starts lessons promptly, maintains student on-task behavior.
• B. Major Function: Management of Student Behavior – enforces rules, maintains dignity and order.
• C. Major Function: Instructional Presentation – presents clear lessons with objectives and demonstrations.
• D. Major Function: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance – checks progress and maintains standards.
• E. Major Function: Instructional Feedback – provides timely feedback on in-class and out-of-class work.
• F. Major Function: Facilitating Instruction – aligns objectives, strategies, and assessments with school goals.
• G. Major Function: Interacting Within the Educational Environment – fair, equitable interactions with students, staff, parents, and community.
• H. Major Function: Performing Non-Instructional Duties – handles non-instructional tasks and adheres to laws and policies.
• ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs other related work as required.
• MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Degree in education or related area for licensure.
• MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OR STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Physical/Language/Numerical/Interpersonal and other capabilities for the role.
