Job summary

IREDELL-STATESVILLE SCHOOLS is seeking a Middle School Classroom Teacher (Grades 6-8) in Statesville, NC. The instructor will implement district-approved curriculum for middle school students, document progress, and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding growth and goals.

The role requires NC certification as a Middle School Teacher and a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Prior middle school teaching experience is preferred, with a focus on differentiated instruction

Qualifications

• NC Middle School teaching certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Experience teaching middle school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers curriculum aligned with district goals.
• Maintains a safe, supportive, and effective learning environment.
• Plans lessons and instructional materials to maximize learning time.
• Assesses student progress and adjusts instruction to student needs.
• Instructs students on citizenship and applicable grade-level topics.
• Engages in ongoing professional development and collaboration.
• Maintains accurate records of grades, attendance and progress.
• Communicates with parents and involves them in learning.
• Ensures student conduct meets school/district standards.
• Collaborates with colleagues on curriculum and assessment.
• Selects appropriate books and materials; manages inventory.
• Supervises students during activities outside the classroom.
• Administers standardized tests as required.
