Job summary

Lincoln County Schools in West Virginia seeks a Fifth Grade Elementary Teacher to collaborate with the principal and staff to plan engaging instruction aligned with state and county requirements.

You will create weekly lesson plans, maintain records, assess student progress, communicate with parents, and participate in required activities and staff committees. Regular 200-day term with a competitive benefits package.

Salary is based on experience and education level per the county salary schedule.

Qualifications

• Valid West Virginia teaching certificate for grades K-6, 1-6, 1-8, or as required for the grade(s) taught.
• Reading Authorization required to teach remedial reading; Reading Specialist Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Foster and exhibit high expectations for self and students.
• Monitor and adhere to responsibilities stated in attendance policies.
• Prepare for classes and show written lesson plans upon request.
• Implement school rules governing student life and conduct and develop classroom behavior procedures.
• Use varied instructional strategies and instructional technology as appropriate.
• Work with parents as partners in education and involve them in the process.
• Assess student progress regularly and report findings as required by policy.
