Job summary

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in education and a valid teaching license with endorsements for assigned courses. The teacher will differentiate instruction, plan lessons, assess progress, and collaborate with staff to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education and/or related field is required.
• Valid educational license required.
• Appropriate endorsement/training for assigned course(s) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality work that engages students in learning.
• Possesses knowledge of subject matter content.
• Recognises and responds appropriately to individual differences in students.
• Differentiates instruction for a variety of developmental stages and ability levels.
• Implements adopted curriculum standards and assessment instruments to meet school/district goals.
• Plans lessons in a logical sequence.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the subjects to be taught and their relationships to other subjects.
• Reflects on teaching and devisi ve ways of improving performance.
• Collaborates with other educators to create a complete educational environment for students.
• Uses a variety of assessment techniques and/or models to evaluate student performance.
• Uses formative assessment to improve instruction.
• Ensures adequate yearly progress per local, state, and federal standards.
• Participates in referral-to-placement processes for students referred for Child Study.
• Utilises technology in teaching and learning processes.
• Maintains a safe, orderly, hazard-free learning environment.
• Implements approved disciplinary measures to facilitate instruction and classroom management.
• Relates to parents and community members in a positive fashion.
• Writes and presents instruction clearly and concisely.
• Engages in ongoing professional growth to maintain licensure and support school improvement.
• Adheres to district, state, and federal policies and procedures.
• Submits required reports promptly and accurately.
• Accounts for classroom materials, textbooks, and equipment.
• Accepts co-curricular and extra-curricular duties as assigned.
• Participates in department/grade-level and district-level committees.
• Attends school-related functions outside instructional day.
• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Supports district Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
