Responsibilities

• A. Major function: Management of Instructional Time — prepare materials and keep students on task at the start of each lesson.
• B. Major function: Management of Student Behavior — establish rules and monitor behavior with dignity.
• C. Major function: Instructional Presentation — present lessons with clear objectives and relevant examples.
• D. Major function: Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance — check progress and provide feedback.
• E. Major function: Instructional Feedback — give prompt, constructive feedback on in-class and out-of-class work.
• F. Major function: Facilitating Instruction — align objectives, strategies, and assessments.
• G. Major function: Interacting Within the Educational Environment — treat all students fairly and communicate effectively.
• H. Major function: Performing Non‑Instructional Duties — fulfill duties in compliance with policies and professional development.
• ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs other related work as required.
• MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Degree in education or in a related area that will qualify for licensure as a teacher by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
