The Learning Lamp in Saxton, Pennsylvania is seeking a Long Term 3rd Grade Substitute Teacher to cover for the absent teacher in the Tussey Mountain School District. Hours vary with district schedules, and pay is $125 per day.

This role offers a collaborative, supportive environment and access to professional development opportunities. Duties include implementing lesson plans, delivering instruction, supervising students, and communicating with staff and administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Willingness to pass required clearances and training (including mandated reporter training, a physical, TB test).
• Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and adapt to different classroom settings.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with the school's policies and procedures.
• Flexibility and adaptability to different teaching assignments.
• Completed background check and clearance.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Classroom management and implementing lesson plans from the absent teacher.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Deliver lessons aligned with the established curriculum.
• Adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Foster student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
• Supervise students during class time, transitions, and school activities.
