Job summary

Valdese Weavers is seeking a Floor Operation Technician to assist the Dye Machine Operator by staging yarn for dyeing and moving it to the correct locations throughout the process. The role requires handling yarn, operating dye machines, and moving materials between staging and drying areas.

The position includes a 2nd/3rd shift with a $1.00 shift premium and an attendance bonus of $50 every two weeks with no time missed.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Good physical condition – heavy lifting required.
• Forklift/tow motor certification.

Responsibilities

• Crimp yarn onto spindles and load yarn with spacers as needed.
• Place yarn in front of the appropriate dye machine and load/unload dye machines.
• Extract yarn and move to port dryers, then move dried carriers to unloading area.
• Move carriers of clipped yarn to the conditioning room.
• Work scheduled overtime and perform other duties as assigned.
• Move barrels of dye and chemicals to the drug room area each shift.
• Maintain good housekeeping on the floor and dispose of trash as required.
