Management & Training Corporation at the J.W. Hamilton Pre-Release Unit in Bryan, Texas seeks a dedicated DWI program instructor. You will provide instruction to offenders, interview and screen participants, and maintain records to support program outcomes.

The role requires an associate degree in relevant fields, licensure or licensing intern status, and experience with substance abuse services. CPR and a Texas driver’s license are also required, with annual background checks and state-approved

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in psychology, sociology, counseling, social work, criminal justice, education, nursing, or health.
• Active registration as LCDC or LCDC-I, licensed social worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC or LPC-A).
• At least two years of direct client services related to substance abuse or mental disorders.
• Successful completion of the Texas DWI Education In-Service Training Program.
• Current CPR certification and a valid Texas driver's license.
• Must pass annual background check and in-service training approved by TDCJ.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to offenders for the DWI programs.
• Interviews, screens, and evaluates offenders for potential program participation.
• Maintains offender records and related services documentation and reports.
• Possess good communication skills and demonstrate instructional ability.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies.
• Administer and evaluate pre and post-test instruments.
• Promote positive social skills and provide regular feedback on intervention techniques.
• Maintain accountability of staff, offenders and property; adhere to safety practices.
