About The Role
As a Medical Director (Managing DVM), you will take on a leadership and mentorship role, guiding the veterinary team in providing top-tier medical care while ensuring operational success. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing medical leadership and oversight of veterinary staff.
- Managing associate veterinarians and fostering their professional growth.
- Developing and upholding hospital-wide medical protocols to maintain excellence in patient care.
- Collaborating with the hospital leadership team to set goals and drive hospital success.
- Leading team meetings, performance reviews, and staff development initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with veterinary regulations and industry best practices.
- Fostering a positive and collaborative work culture that prioritizes high-quality medicine and client satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) degree from an accredited program.
- Active Texas veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain one).
- 5+ years of veterinary experience preferred.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and inspire teams.
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage staff effectively.
- Commitment to high medical standards and ethical veterinary practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
