Position Purpose

Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program provides 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help them become 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.

Externships are typically 2 weeks long, and Heartland will cover lodging costs if needed. The length of the externship is flexible, and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.

At West Asheville Family Vet, we treat our patients like family. Our team provides personal care in a state-of-the-art facility built in 2021, serving West Asheville, Candler, Woodfin, and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on the latest technology, unmatched in Buncombe County.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
• Must be able to provide student PLIT
