Job summary

PAW Health Network in Kronenwetter, WI seeks motivated DVM students for a comprehensive externship. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians in a real-world clinical setting, applying foundational knowledge and gaining practical hands-on skills.

The externship offers opportunities to assist with exams, diagnostics, and procedures, while developing clinical competence and professional communication with clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Active veterinary student from an AVMA-accredited institution.
• Enrollment in 1st–4th year veterinary program.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics and treatment under direct supervision.
• Perform routine clinical tasks including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, and basic laboratory work.
• Observe and participate in surgical procedures, dental work, and other veterinary services.
• Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary practice management systems.
• Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care and treatment options.
• Demonstrate proper animal handling and restraint techniques safely.
• Support the clinical team in keeping a clean, organized work environment.
• Participate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities to enhance knowledge.
• Adhere to safety protocols, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment prioritizing animal welfare and client satisfaction.

PAW Health Network is seeking motivated DVM students to join our veterinary team in Kronenwetter for a comprehensive externship program. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a professional veterinary healthcare setting while working alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff. As a DVM Student Extern, you will apply your foundational veterinary knowledge in a real-world clinical environment, develop practical skills, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.

• Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures under direct supervision

Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
