PAW Health Network in Kronenwetter, WI is seeking motivated DVM students for a comprehensive externship program. This externship offers hands-on clinical experience in a professional veterinary setting, working alongside veterinarians and support staff to apply foundational knowledge in real-world cases.

As a DVM Student Extern, you will perform patient examinations, assist with diagnostics and procedures, and maintain detailed medical records while developing practical skills and contributing

Formación

• Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.

Responsabilidades

• Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatment procedures under direct supervision.
• Perform routine clinical tasks including patient intake, vital sign monitoring, and basic laboratory work.
• Observe and participate in surgical procedures, dental work, and other specialized veterinary services.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using veterinary practice management systems.
• Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding patient care and treatment options.
• Demonstrate proper animal handling and restraint techniques in a safe and humane manner.
• Support the clinical team in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Participate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment that prioritizes animal welfare and client satisfaction.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on clinical experience in a professional veterinary healthcare setting while working alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff. As a DVM Student Extern, you will apply your foundational veterinary knowledge in a real‑world clinical environment, develop practical skills, and contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.

Qualifications

Must be an Active Veterinary Student from an AVMA Accredited Institution.
