Job summary

Haw Creek Animal Hospital offers a DVM externship/preceptorship in our urgent care setting, with mentorship from our veterinary team and hands-on experience across typical small animal cases. This program supports your clinical preparation and helps you hit the ground running after graduation.

Externships range from two to eight weeks, with days, evenings, and weekends included. A weekly stipend of $250 will be provided.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an accredited DVM program.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Carry professional liability insurance (AVMA PLIT coverage).

Responsibilities

• Gather histories and perform physical examinations under supervision.
• Develop diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
• Assist in surgeries and manage medical cases.
• Provide wellness care and client communication.
• Produce medical records (SOAPs) within daily workflow.
