Western Veterinary Partners externship program offers veterinary students real-world experience by applying classroom learning in the clinic. Students in any grade may apply for externships with a WVP Practice as part of their clinical year externship blocks or for informal externship experiences.

Our mission is to improve the lives of veterinarians and help them grow professionally and personally, while supporting team members, families, and their pets.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be veterinary students in good standing.
• Externships may be part of clinical year blocks or informal experience.

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to practice management, client communication, patient histories, physical exams, and case management.
• Observe or assist in surgeries and diagnostic procedures under supervising veterinarians.
• Develop skills in record keeping, time management, and professional communication.
