Chippewa Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary hospital in the Dutchtown neighborhood of South St. Louis.

The Chippewa team enjoys a collaborative and supportive environment that empowers the doctors to focus on patient care and client communication. We are equipped with electronic records, digital radiography, an in-house laboratory, a therapy laser, and more to come!

Our clientele is dedicated to providing quality care to their pets, and we enjoy a diverse caseload allowing us to pursue interesting workups and surgeries.

Position Purpose

Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners' Externship Program works to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help them be 'practice ready' by their first day in practice.

Externships are typically 2 weeks long, and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed. The length of externship is flexible, and we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.

1. Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Veterinary School.
2. Must be able to provide student PLIT.
