Located in the city's historic Pioneer Square district, the Chief Seattle Club provides a safe and sacred place to nurture, affirm, and strengthen the spirit of urban Native peoples in need. Our mission is to create a welcoming place of support, acceptance and ceremony for Seattle's native population.
Services based out of our Pioneer Square Day Center location, the DV /SA Case Manager serves culturally appropriate assistance to Indigenous women, men, and the 2SLGBTQ+ community facing various forms of domestic violence, abuse, and harassment. This position will take on barriers specific to the Indigenous community.
The ideal candidate is reliable and motivated, who is able to work independently, and has an effective system for staying organized. This position should serve as an advocate and/or activist against violence among Indigenous members with a high level of empathy, compassion and confidentiality.
This position has a social justice component that will allow for critical thinking around how the external systems impact the work that CSC is doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. As an equal opportunity employer, we highly encourage people of color to apply.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: work at a stationary work space for long periods of time, with mobility to move throughout the office; use a PC, constantly reaching with hands and fingers and keyboarding extensively; work with team as frequent communication is required, including use of the telephone; be able to read and write documents in hard and electronic copy, including those requiring great attention to detail; have the physical strength and agility to handle routine office tasks and machinery. Occasional travel may be required for certain employees depending on location.
This position is typically in an office environment with desktop business equipment and frequent telephone calls. The noise level is moderate. Frequent interruptions are common, while under deadlines and time constraints.
Most positions at CSC are exposed to members of the community who have experienced or are experiencing trauma in various forms including but not limited to: domestic violence, sexual violence, homelessness, unemployment, financial hardship, etc. As a result, staff are at risk of secondary trauma. Employees are encouraged to seek external support and maintain self-care when working indirectly or directly with clients. Mental health care referrals for employees are available.
