Job summary

Freedom Leisure is seeking a Duty Manager for its Leisure Centre to lead a motivated staff team and ensure an outstanding customer experience. The role focuses on day-to-day management, events, and helping customers while driving service standards and community impact.

You will contribute to the centre's performance, budget awareness, and continuous improvement, with the autonomy to shape delivery and staff development. Casual hours and training are provided to support growth.

Qualifications

• 2 years prior experience working in a Duty Management or similar role
• RLSS Nation pool qualification, desirable as training an be provided
• Enhanced DBS check
• Experience of problem solving, customer service and staff management

Responsibilities

• To actively manage and develop and motivate a team of operational staff
• To be responsible for the day to day duty management and running of the leisure centre to the highest standard
• To contribute to and understand the business and budgetary performance of the centre
• To be a proactive member of the leisure centre team
• A passion for the industry demonstrated through continuous professional development
• To be able to work flexibly with a level of autonomy and decision making confidence
• Able to think on your feet and respond to variable demands

Our Centre Management Team help to provide the services and activities that have a hugely positive impact in our local communities. To achieve this we are recruiting a Duty Manager to work at our Leisure Centre. As an integral part of the site team your work will support the delivery a huge variety of services and ensure our customers receive an excellent experience at our centre.

The role will be busy and varied, no two days will be the same. You will have a good level of autonomy and we’ll be interested in your ideas and suggestions. You will be involved in managing a motivated staff team, organising events and activities, helping customers, making plans for the centre and contributing to genuinely improving peoples’ lives through leisure.

Hours: Casual hours, as and when required.
