Job summary

The Coachella Valley Lakers, managed by Oak View Group, seek enthusiastic Dunk Team members for the 2026-2027 season at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert. You will perform high-energy dunk routines and engage fans during home games, working with the Game Presentation team to deliver exciting live entertainment.

Ideal candidates have a background in sports entertainment or choreography, a strong stage presence, and the ability to learn routines quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform exciting, high-energy basketball dunk routines during pregame, halftime, and designated game breaks.
• Execute a variety of athletic dunks, trick shots, alley-oops, and choreographed performances while maintaining safety.
• Engage and energize fans through crowd interaction and entertainment throughout the event.
• Collaborate with the Game Presentation Manager, Game Director, DJ, mascot, and production staff to deliver live entertainment.
• Arrive prepared for rehearsals, practices, and game-day performances, demonstrating professionalism.
• Learn, rehearse, and perform new routines and promotional segments during the season.
• Assist with setup, inspection, operation, and breakdown of performance equipment and props.
• Follow production cues and maintain awareness of game timing to ensure performances start and end on schedule.
• Promote a safe performance environment by adhering to arena policies and safety procedures.
• Represent the Coachella Valley Lakers with professionalism at games and community appearances.
• Maintain a high level of physical fitness and performance readiness throughout the season.
• Support fan engagement initiatives through autograph sessions, photo opportunities, and sponsor activations.
• Work collaboratively with fellow performers and maintain a team-first attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Coachella Valley Lakers are aiming to build the most entertaining environment in sports. We are looking for some enthusiastic, outgoing, and responsible folks to serve as members of the CV Lakers Dunk Team for the 2026-2027 season. This position provides a great opportunity to interact with our fans while learning about the operations of a pro basketball team. These members will assist with in-game promotions, contests, on-court performances, and other activities during each Laker home game.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $25.00.

The Coachella Valley Lakers will be managed by OVG in a similar fashion to the Coachella Valley Firebirds. The team will play a vital role in connecting with local fans, supporting regional development, and enhancing the overall sports scene in the desert. Fueled by Coachella Valley’s energy, talent, and love for sports, the Coachella Valley Lakers are perfectly positioned to amplify the next chapter of professional sports and the continued pursuit of entertainment in the region.

• Work collaboratively with fellow performers while maintaining a positive, team-first attitude.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience with trampoline dunk teams.
• Previous experience in sports entertainment, promotions, dance, cheer, theater, live events, or customer engagement is preferred but not required.
• Strong choreography or performance background—ability to learn and execute new routines quickly.
• Demonstrated basketball playing experience at the high school, collegiate, semi-pro, or professional level is preferred.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and have a professional appearance and conduct.
• Must be outgoing, energetic, and comfortable interacting with large crowds with a positive attitude with a passion for creating unforgettable fan experiences on and off camera.
• Strong stage presence with the confidence to dance, entertain, and engage fans of all ages.
• Ability to remain organized and perform efficiently in a fast-paced, live event environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
