Job summary

Branscome is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to haul construction materials to job sites and plants in Hampton Roads. You will operate dump trucks, perform pre-trip checks, and maintain a safe work environment in accordance with company policies.

The role requires a valid CDL Class B with air brake endorsement, at least two years' experience driving commercial vehicles, and the ability to read maps and use GPS. Overtime is required and physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs.

Major Role and Purpose

• Drives Dump Trucks for transporting construction materials to job and plant locations.

Description of Duties

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Safety maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Pull or push levers to dump materials.
• Move hand and foot controls to move truck forward and backward to aid in the placement of material.
• May perform other related duties, such as lifting & moving transported material.
• Inspect truck equipment and supplies in accordance with CDL pre-trip guidelines.
• Use hand tools when necessary.
• Oil, lubricate, and/or general maintenance ofequipment may be required.
• Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements and adhere to same.
• Maintain daily log.
• Understanding verbal & written directions, GPS.
• Able to communicate with management & foreman on job sites.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.

Education:

• High School Diploma / GED.

Work Experience/Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid CDL, Class B with air brake endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Job requires the following motions: climbing, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, vibrating, and reaching.
• Must be able to climb up and down a ladder.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
• Overtime work is required.
• Physical strength must be enough to climb in and out of truck throughout the workday, carry chutes, and carry out tasks that may be assigned to you.
