Position Overview

This is a skilled position requiring at least one year of related experience. The individual must be able to operate efficiently an end dump and/or belly dump (with and without trainers, and tamping systems). The driver will deliver various soils, aggregates, and other materials to residential and commercial locations. The position requires making pre- and post-trip inspections, performing oil, grease, and service tasks, and making normal operating adjustments to the truck. The driver will also lift/move transported materials as needed.

Requirements

1. Thorough operational knowledge and skills in operating end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment.
2. Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
3. Maintain time and material records.
4. Follow verbal and written instructions.
5. Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
6. Skill in maneuvering and backing with double and triple pup trailers.
7. Effective communication skills, including radio communication.
8. Ability to connect and disconnect pup trailers.
9. Physical ability to lift/move 10 to 30 lbs, climb, sit/drive, shift gears, cover/uncover loads, change wheels, and use hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.

• Responsible for loading and unloading large quantities of water for compaction and dust control.
• Ensure the equipment is in good working condition, perform minor maintenance, and refer major issues to the supervisor.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• The job duties are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as needed.
