Dump Truck Driver - Birmingham, AL (Transportation)

Position Overview:

This is a skilled position requiring at least one year of related experience. The driver will operate end dumps and/or belly dumps (with or without trainers and tamping systems) to deliver soils, aggregates, and other materials to residential and commercial locations. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, and handling materials.

Requirements:

1. Operational knowledge of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with or without pups).
2. Safe and efficient equipment operation.
3. Record keeping of time and materials.
4. Ability to follow instructions (verbal and written).
5. Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
6. Backing and maneuvering skills with double and triple pup trailers.
7. Effective communication skills, including radio communication.
8. Ability to connect/disconnect pup trailers.
9. Physical ability to lift/move 10-30 lbs, climb, sit/drive, and perform minor maintenance tasks.
10. Loading/unloading water for compaction or dust control.
11. Responsibility for equipment maintenance and minor servicing.
12. Teamwork and effective communication.
