Job summary

OHLA USA in Miami, FL is seeking a Dump Truck Driver to safely and efficiently move asphalt and aggregate between sites, while keeping equipment clean and in good repair.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, follow DOT rules, and work extended hours including nights and weekends as project needs dictate. CDL required, 21+, clean MVR.

Qualifications

• CDLClass A or B with no air brakes restriction.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Clear MVR as per company policy.
• Ability to communicate with mechanics and supervisors.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Flexibility for night shifts, weekends, and overtime.
• Must pass drug test and FMCSA compliance checks.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump truck safely on highways and off-road to deliver materials.

Community Asphalt, founded in 1980 as an asphalt paving contractor, based in Miami, Florida, andpart of OHLA USA since 2006, has since become specialized in general road construction and transportation infrastructure. From its four operation and plant facilities in Miami-Dade, Fort Myers, Vero Beach and West Palm Beach, the company boasts extensive geographic coverage throughout South Florida, focusing on all aspects of transportation infrastructure development, primarily for state and local authorities. Community Asphalt continues to provide traditional paving services which include grading and paving, pavement milling, surveying, excavation, on and off-road hauling, drainage, utilities, base finishing, and highway sweeping. The company also provides engineering, contracting, design and build and finance and more complex PPP contracts services. These projects include parking lots, industrial and retail complexes, road and highway construction, and airport runways.

Summary

Our company has an immediate opening for a Dump Truck Driver in Miami, Fl. The Dump Truck Driver will be responsible for the safe, efficient, economical movement of material year-round from one location to another as well as keeping the equipment in clean, serviceable condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Operate dump truck safely and efficiently on public highways and in off-road situations to deliver asphalt or aggregate material into asphalt paver, widener, stone box, storage bins or onto stockpiles.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post trip inspections and report mechanical issues to the shop manager.
• Adhere to all DOT rules and regulations in addition to company policies.
• Attend safety training and toolbox meetings hosted by Truck base Manager of Fleet Department.
• Load, unload and protect cargo while adhering to all safety protocols.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisors’ direction.
• Job may demand working more than 40 hours in a week with day and night shifts and weekly schedules can include weekends.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Must have a current valid Driver's License and maintain valid throughout employment.
  • CDL: Must possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) without an air brakes restriction.
• Clear MVR not to exceed points outlined in the Company Vehicle Policy
• Ability to communicate with mechanics, supervisors, to perform job functions and report any mechanical issue.
• Must be over the age of 21 years old.
• Ability to work flexible schedules such as nights, weekends, and overtime.
• Pass drug test, fit-for-duty test, background check and clear with FMCSA.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
• Climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and walking.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over a distance of at least 10 feet.

Work Environment

• Outdoor construction sites with exposure to various weather conditionswith potential exposure to heat, dust, noise, and uneven terrain.
• Noise levels associated with heavy equipment operation.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• May require extended hours, including nights and weekends, depending on project needs.
