Job summary

Duet - Nebraska seeks a Direct Support Professional to provide direct care and supports, empowering adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities to live independently and participate in the community. You’ll assist with daily living activities, transportation, and community engagement in residential and day settings.

The role requires at least 19 years old, a HS diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and access to a vehicle.
• Willing to pass background check, drug screen and pre-employment physical.
• Ability to communicate clearly with individuals and staff using basic computer and email skills.

Responsibilities

• Engage individuals in community activities and build daily living skills.
• Team with clients to complete assessments and develop goals with ISP input.
• Provide daily documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
• Assist access to health care providers of the individual's choice.
• Administer daily medications as directed and monitor safety.
• Provide transportation to events and appointments as needed.

We assist in the activities of daily living, provide community engagement opportunities, job coaching, and life skills training, as well as skilled nursing care as needed.What is a Community DSP?A Community Direct Support Professional (DSP) encourages, supports, and engages adults with developmental disabilities.
