Job summary

ASI Hastings Inc. is seeking an HVAC Duct Install Apprentice in San Diego to support lead installers in residential duct work, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance. You will interact with customers, follow safety standards, and document service activities.

A strong work ethic, good communication, and basic tool use are essential. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2 years in construction, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Assist lead installer with residential duct work and gather parts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with projects from start to finish.
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs and advise on upkeep.
  • Provide excellent customer service and clear communication.
  • Follow safety standards and keep accurate service records.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HVAC Duct Install Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a variety of construction and home improvement tasks and enjoy working with basic tools. If you have a strong work ethic, a friendly attitude, and the ability to perform a wide range of home repair and maintenance jobs, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with lead installer on residential duct work: Serve existing customers by assisting lead installers with installing ductwork. Gather components, parts, and tools to complete the installation following all quality and safety standards. Ensure necessary tools and equipment for each job are present. Attend training meetings and continue professional development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Work with the lead installer to complete projects from start to finish paying close attention to details. Educate customers on the use of the new systems.
  • Conduct maintenance and repair: Perform regular system checks and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency. Complete repairs and offer recommendations for ongoing maintenance.
  • Customer interaction: Deliver excellent customer service by addressing client concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Safety and compliance: Follow all safety standards and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of services performed and parts used. Document service performed and recommendations made by completing applicable forms, reports, logs, and/or records.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a general construction field.
  • Licenses: Valid driver’s license.
  • Skills: Strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces and at heights; physical stamina and dexterity. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-75lbs. Frequently ascend/descend ladder and maintain balance.
  • Hourly pay + additional earning potential.

Work in field environments across residential job sites, climbing ladders and navigating uneven surfaces. Regularly works in confined spaces and moves materials up to 50 pounds. Operates hand and power tools and vehicles. Must be able to see, hear, and exchange accurate information with customers and team members. Regular exposure to outdoor weather, noise, and dust. Reasonable accommodation may be made to perform essential functions.

Pay Range

$22 - $22 USD
