Qualifications

• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of NY State and federal water/wastewater regulations.
• Ability to perform water quality testing and maintain records.
• Ability to identify equipment issues and correct actions.
• Safe handling of treatment chemicals and operation of equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
• Ability to work independently with safety and environmental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain water and wastewater treatment systems.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, sampling and analysis.
• Monitor pumps, valves, tanks and chemical feed systems.
• Adjust operations to maintain proper treatment performance.
• Maintain operating logs, records and test results.
• Perform preventive maintenance and identify needed repairs.
• Respond to alarms and system issues as required.
• Ensure compliance with NYS, federal and facility regulations.
