Job summary

Tejas Equipment Rentals in San Marcos seeks an Equipment Mechanic / Delivery Driver. This hands-on role combines shop maintenance with on-road delivery in a single day, using a company F250 with trailer.

You'll service, inspect, and repair our fleet to keep machines ready for customers, then deliver them and ensure safe handoffs. A mechanical background, valid Texas license, and clean driving record are required; growth opportunities exist within the tech ranks.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical experience with vehicles or equipment
• Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs (90 lbs occasionally)
• Ability to work both in shop and on the road
• Willingness to learn and grow within the mechanic ranks

Responsibilities

• Inspect and service equipment to ensure it is in top condition before hits a job site
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs
• Make equipment customer-ready: clean, fueled, and ready to go
• Keep accurate repair and maintenance records
• Deliver and pick up rental equipment using a company-provided F250
• Load, chain, strap, and block equipment per DOT procedures
• Conduct pre-trip inspections on trucks and trailers
• Answer customers’ questions about safe operation at drop-off
• Report equipment damage or delays to the Branch Manager
• Stay in communication with branch and dispatch on delivery schedules
