Job summary

Hill Donut Co. & Pancake House is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef to lead operations across two locations in North Wilmington, DE and Mullica Hill, NJ. This role emphasizes autonomy and input into menu direction, with a daytime schedule and no late nights.

You will manage bakery, prep, and line teams, shape the kitchen culture, and drive quality, consistency, and cost controls, while maintaining safety standards and strong vendor relationships.

Qualifications

• Kitchen leadership experience as a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar.
• Brunch or breakfast experience is a bonus
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a big plus
• Strong organization, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and reliable; you don’t need someone watching over your shoulder

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations across both locations (North Wilmington, DE and Mullica Hill, NJ)
• Run your kitchen with autonomy: your systems, your standards, your team
• Contribute to menu development, specials, and direction of the restaurants
• Hire, train, and develop bakery, prep, and line teams
• Maintain quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Own ordering, inventory, food cost, and vendor relationships
• Uphold food safety and sanitation protocols
• Solve problems quickly and keep service running smoothly
