Responsibilities
Instructional Planning and Delivery
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the district's curriculum requirements.
- Design and deliver rigorous, differentiated instruction in both Spanish and English to meet diverse student needs.
- Utilize research-based dual language instructional strategies to engage all learners.
- Implement the district’s Multi-tiered System of Supports to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of multilingual students.
Classroom Environment
- Create a conducive learning environment appropriate for students' physical, social, and emotional development.
- Establish routines and procedures that support positive learning experiences.
- Implement restorative practices to foster a positive classroom climate and address conflicts constructively.
Assessment and Evaluation
- Use assessment data and second language acquisition knowledge to plan instruction and monitor progress.
- Conduct formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain certification to administer WIDA assessments for multilingual student placement.
Communication and Collaboration
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure program success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and program goals.
- Engage in professional development and participate in PLCs to improve instructional practices.
Cultural Competence and Advocacy
- Promote cultural diversity and celebrate bilingualism within the school community.
- Advocate for the benefits of bilingual education and serve as a cultural role model for students.
