Independent School District 624 announces vacancies in our Dual Language Spanish Immersion Kindergarten programs.
Salary Range:
Highly competitive salary based on experience and qualifications as well as a signing bonus for eligible candidates. Salary will be determined based on the WBL Educator Contract.
Start Date: Summer of 2025

Position Summary:

The White Bear Lake Area Schools are committed to providing an exceptional educational experience that prepares our young learners for a globalized world. Our Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion Program is designed to foster bilingualism, biliteracy, and cross-cultural understanding through a dynamic curriculum that immerses students in both English and Spanish.

Position Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic Kindergarten teachers who are fluent in Spanish and English and have a strong commitment to teaching young children in a bilingual and culturally rich environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in education, a deep understanding of the benefits of dual-language learning, and a drive for creating an inclusive, nurturing classroom that supports the development of the whole child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Kindergarten students in both Spanish and English (80/20 model), delivering instruction in core subjects (language arts, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning).

  • Create a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that align with both district and state curriculum standards.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, ensuring both language acquisition and academic growth.

  • Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and families to support the academic and social-emotional development of students.

  • Participate in professional development and collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices.

  • Foster a love of language and culture, promoting bilingualism and biliteracy in both Spanish and English.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.

  • Current MN Teaching Certification or equivalent experience allowing for a variance or provisional license.

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English.

  • Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies for early learners.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for working with children and fostering a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with dual-language immersion programs or language acquisition strategies.

  • Knowledge of literacy and language development in both Spanish and English.

  • Familiarity with inquiry-based and hands-on learning approaches.

  • Familiarity with technology tools for early education.
