Job summary

The Hampton Inn & Suites Happy Valley Phoenix North, managed by NCG Hospitality, is seeking a Dual Hotel Chief Engineer to oversee maintenance of guest rooms and property infrastructure.

You will lead preventive maintenance, manage in-house and contractor projects, and ensure safety and quality standards across the hotel in Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications

• Three or more years in hotel, building, apartment, or similar maintenance environment.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and overseeing in-house projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs and repairs for equipment, guest rooms, and property infrastructure.
• Coordinate and manage in-house projects from proposal through completion, ensuring quality and budget adherence.
• Secure and supervise external contractors for complex repairs, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Maintain exterior property, landscaping, parking areas, and pool/spa compliance with company policies and health codes.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Property Maintenance & Repairs

• Perform and oversee preventive maintenance programs and repairs for equipment, guest rooms, and overall property infrastructure
• Conduct minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building-related systems

Project Management

• Serve as project manager for in-house projects by gathering proposals, providing recommendations, coordinating schedules, ensuring quality control, managing budgets, and resolving issues as they arise

Contractor Oversight

• Secure and supervise outside contractors for complex equipment and building repair needs, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards

Facility & Grounds Care

• Preserve the property's exterior appearance, including landscaping, lawn care, and upkeep of parking areas
• If applicable, maintain the pool and spa in compliance with company policies, brand standards, and state and local health codes

What does success look like in this role?

• Three or more years of hotel, building, apartment, or similar maintenance environment
• High problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to implement and manage projects from inception to completion
• Supervisory experience
• Experience in preventative maintenance and general repairs of mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and building components
• When applicable, experience operating and maintaining a commercial pool
