We are seeking a psychiatrist to join our team at our program in Pittsburgh, PA.

Earn $150/hour.

Position Overview

The Psychiatrist is qualified in the mental health profession, possessing the clinical skills and experience to assess, plan, develop, coordinate, and provide psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation for adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities (Dually Diagnosed). The psychiatrist collaborates with all team members, Dual Diagnosis Treatment Team internal supports, and Interagency Team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide individual medication orders, prescriptions, psychiatric evaluations, and symptom management, making immediate adjustments to treatment as necessary.
  • Supervise and direct registered nurses or certified nurse practitioners regarding prescriptions, orders, lab tests, or medication side effects/interactions.
  • Act as a liaison and consult with hospitals, community agencies, and families to maintain coordination throughout the treatment process.
  • Complete comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for each individual, including psychiatric history, risk assessment, functional assessment, and recommendations. Provide after-hours on-call consultation to the team for symptom management and psychiatric conditions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Current licensure/certification to practice as a psychiatrist in the state of practice
  • Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or an equivalent certifying board
  • Previous experience and/or training with the intellectual disabilities population
  • Ability to obtain all necessary clearances and background checks to work with designated consumers
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
