Job summary

Austin Community College seeks an Adjunct Faculty, Composition & Literary Studies (Dual Credit) to deliver courses in person on high school campuses. You will prepare engaging lessons reflecting department outcomes and support student success in a multicultural setting.

The role requires a Master’s degree in English or related field and experience with Blackboard or similar LMS. Evening availability and campus mobility may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Rhetoric or related fields per SACSCOC.
• Experience teaching composition and literary studies to diverse students.
• Ability to teach Dual Credit courses on high school campuses.
• Ability to use technology as an instructional aide to enhance learning.
• Commitment to multicultural, inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach courses in Composition and Literary Studies to a multicultural student population.
• Evaluate student progress with clear, timely feedback and department-aligned outcomes.
• Provide teaching and mentoring without discrimination based on protected characteristics.
• Maintain regular office hours to support student retention and success.
