Job summary

WindsorMeade Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a PRN Medication Aide/CNA to provide routine resident services, including medication administration and ADLs, in a CARF-accredited community. Shifts available: 6:45am-3:15pm, 2:45pm-11:15pm, or 10:45pm-7:15am, with a maximum of 29 hours per week and a minimum of 3 shifts per month plus at least one weekend shift per month.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved certified Nursing Assistant Program.
• Certified as a Nursing Assistant in Virginia (CNA) and Register Medication Aide (RMA) REQUIRED.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• Graduate of a medication training program, including insulin module and meet 54.1-34-8 Code of Virginia Requirement.
• Experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands the implications of resident rights regarding medications, treatment decisions and confidentiality.
• Recognize emergencies and other health-threatening conditions and respond accordingly.
• Identify medication terminology and abbreviations.
• Implement standard precautions.
• Cleans and disinfects as needed.
• Properly dispose of infectious waste according to state law.
• Review administration records and Doctor’s orders.
• Maintain resident medical records while abiding by HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate the five rights of medication administration.
• Follow policy for medication administration.
• Measure and record vital signs, as indicated.
